Blunt As Black Widow In "Iron Man 2"? - By Garth Franklin,Thursday, January 15th 2009 7:14am - www.darkhorizons.com -

Emily Blunt ("The Devil Wears Prada," "Charlie Wilson's War") is allegedly in talks to play Natasha Romanoff, aka the Black Widow, in Marvel Studios' "Iron Man 2" says Variety.

In the comics Romanoff is a Soviet super spy in a skintight black costume that is enhanced by high-tech weaponry.She joins the previously-announced villains Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell in the sequel.

Jon Favreau helms the Justin Theroux-scripted sequel which begins shooting this Spring.

btw, this boney chick didn't look like she had the body to wear a skin tight suit when I saw her in Devil Wears Prada. we need some curves!

I've heard rumors that Rourke could possibly be playing Crimson Dynamo while Rockwell could play the Mandarin (obviously with some make up and oufit effects.)

I have no confirmation of any of this. It does make you wonder where rumor ends and truth begins because I have heard speculation of so many different possible villains that I hope (and have faith) that Jon Favreau won't pull a Schumacher and load three major villains into one film Batman and Robin style and stink the whole place up.

Not sure who he's playing, i'm sure it's out there on the 'Net somewhere. I assume you meant "this boney didn't LOOK like she had the body...", but look her up online. She has decent curves.

Sam Rockwell is not playing the Mandarin, you need to read the sources, Hes gonna play Justin Hammer a billionaire rival to Tony Stark.

Supposely Rourke is playing Crimson Dynamo (might have the name wrong).

I thought they had said if was Don Cheadle a great actor but I wish they would have kept Terrence Howard....

He was actually the first to sign on for the first Iron Man, so he was also the highest paid, which the studios didn't like, but the contract was already done. So without telling Terrence, they just axed him and signed on Don Cheadle at a lot more affordable price

BTW, I would love to see Emily Blunt in the next Iron Man. If any of you have seen Dan In Real Life or My Summer of Love (in which she gets naked!) then you know how hot she is

Yeah, a LOT more apparently. He was paid more than the hero, the villain, and the girl, and he only had a 10 minute part. Crazy how Hollywood works sometimes eh?

It sucks to see him go, and I don't know why they replaced him with Don Cheadle, an EVEN SMALLER guy than the dude from the comics. He was hella ripped in the comics, I don't know why they chose to go even smaller than Terrence.

They did the same thing in Spiderman 3. Eddie Brock from the comics was a pretty decent sized guy, with a flat top. I always pictured someone like Howie Long playing him. But then they picked a tiny little b**ch lookin guy to play him. Oh well, at least the movie was crap so they didn't ruin anything
