Default A lot of heat from Samsung LCD

My Samsung ln-t4071f gives a ton of heat off of the screen. Is this normal?

I worked at CC for awhile and it seemed like a lot of the LCD ran hot...if you are worried about you could get a little fan and have it blow off the top of the tv...might work not sure but it would cool it off a little...

Has it been calibrated? I mean professionally done?

+1. you might have your backlight setting too high.

I had a Samsung LNS4695D, now that thing was hot. my 71 series, although bigger, puts off less heat.

We have the Pioneer 5010 and 5080 sitting side by side at work... one calibrated, the other not. The un-calibrated set puts off incredible heat, the other is just above room temp. Also plugging it up to a powercenter will help, unless that's already been done.

I bet the heat from that 40" is nothing compared to my 60" heater.

Seriously, does your TV have any energy saving mode? If it does, try playing around with it. It will likely decrease the heat dissipated.
