Default Has Fox GONE CHEAPSKATE?

CHEAP CASE with white blu ray print, not silver embedded logo. For 34.99 fox titles i think they should had use nice case with silver logo embedded and some cool package included like coupons for next movie or small postcard or poster?

FOX, you are cheapskate!

I really could care less about packaging, cover-art, etc. It's all about disc-content, and by that I mean Picture/sound, not extras etc. As long as they hit 5/5 on PQ and AQ they send them in cases with just the movie name on the cover and nothing else!!!

i like cases, i like to look at it once in a while. I just felt that for 34.99 or higher price should have nice package to make the money worth it. Of course the movie disc on blu ray is worth buying but you are not only person who does not care for covers or package. I enjoy it.

I don't remember if it was the last BD I opened but I believe it was Hitman that the white Blu-Ray logo at the top of the case lifted off with the security sticker that was over it. I was disappointed a little (though that had no effect on my purchase or enjoyment of the movie). I also just realized that most of the top security stickers have a cutout over the BD logo so it's not sticking over it.

Well, you'll be disappointed at the other leading Blu studio, Disney, as some of their releases have the "crappy" boxes too, like High School Musical 2.

There's a give-up-this-for-that quality with the main two cases. The cheaper looking one closes much better; the better looking one just looks better, that's it, and its side flap tends to not close after a while.

Thank f'n GOD for that!! I hated that 3 side security seal bull shite, it would ruin the cover getting them off! The 1! on top is not a problem at all cause its not touching the cover, just the case which makes for a quick un-wrap

Same here - even worse, one of the circular disc holders was all broken apart. I replaced the disc yesterday, when I opened it last night both circular disc holders were broken! Going back again for a replacement, third time's a charm!

I think you need a hobby, these things are miniscule and could be worse.

i agree, packaging could be alot better and the lack of extended cuts for movies also bothers me. when its all said and done though the movie is the important part.

im all for the nice cases with the embedded logo on top.

yea yea yea, its all about whats on the disc, bla bla bla.

but come on, i dont think im the only one here that enjoys the consistency of dvd or blu ray collections and how they look on the shelf on display. actually, i know im not the only one because theres other threads about the difference between blu ray cases.

i also have a few of the cheaper looking cases with the blu ray logo printed on it that have either partially or completely been ripped off with the security sticker on the top. soooooo annoying.

so yes, im all for the cases with embedded logo and snap thing on the side. which by the way, is only there for security while at the store. once you open the case, its meant to flip down into into th case and snap into place so you dont have to deal with it anymore after initial opening of the case.

My biggest gripe is definitely the square security stickers found on the inside of the case. These things are a pain in the neck to get off.

If we're gonna talk about cases, I'll add this....

1) I'm very happy there aren't security stickers all over it.

2) the OCD in me always CUTS the top sticker... the one with the name that is white.... I cut it with a razorblade, and leave it on. there is no point to do this with Blu-Ray, but I got into the habit with DVD because this sticker would overlap the plastic on the case, and this prevented the cover-art from sliding out, or becoming worn (and it kept the plastic layer on the cover from being worn) like I said, no reason to do this now, but I still do. All of my standard DVDs have white stickers on top, sliced with a razorblade.

3) The one thing that bothers me about the case has nothing to do with looks. I love the fact that the cases are smaller, so they take up less storage space, but the that "flap" that they use to secure it when it's closed is pretty pointless if you ask me. Standard DVDs started the cases with the two little tabs that did that, and I actually just break them off, and you can't even really tell they were ever there. I hate picking up a moving, going to open it, and realize there is a tab holding it closed..... it's like child-proof caps on aspirin I guess.

EDIT EDIT EDIT!!!!!!!!!!

wow... I just read this, and did not know that!!! I never noticed! I can't wait to pop all of these things to the inside so I never have to deal with it again!!!!!!

Thanks!!! This is why I keep coming back to this forum... learn something new everyday!

They use what's available...

The locking case, is really just an option. I myself like it, since I really don't want my cases to 'open' accidentally when falling.

Heh, I live on the landing approach for our airport... [Not literally on the pad, I mean, the planes regularly fly overhead, low etc].

And well, we use a kitchen rack right now for media storage. So accidentally bumping into it can cause stuff to fly .

Yeah, I prefer them to put these on cardboard inserts. I received Crank the other day and had to use rubbing alcohol to remove all the sticky residue from the side and bottom stickers. What a pain.
