Default New sony receiver

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921665364791

Anyone gonna be getting this new receiver? I want to get this, looks pretty good. Does anyone know if this does DTS-HD MA? It says DTS-HD so i think it does, just not totally sure. From what I can tell the only thing it does not do is upconvert, wich is fine with me.

Ya it says it will support the latest audio formats so if that is what was holding you back from getting it...I would say you should get it!!!

Ya no DTS-HDMA...

It doesn't decode, TrueHD either. It does accept PCM, so if you have a player that decodes internally it will work.

I wasn't sure if they were different. DOn't know if it matters, but the PS3 doesn't decode it anyway.

my point is, if your going to buy a new receiver now, then buy one with the future in mind. if you can get a receiver that will decode for that price, do it. youll get more for your money. im going to get one of the new blu players this year to bitstream all the audio to my onkyo.

plus the first page just says it supports lpcm. not tru hd or dts ma. I WOULD PASS!

Get the Onkyo 705. Sony is not known for the best sound IMO. Others who own them will differ.
