i need help asap - Blu-ray Forum

my powerdvd ultra could only play the menus and previews clearly, but when it gets into the actual movie, it flickers like crazy with green screen/ yellow zig zags, etc etc.(you could see some of the film, but in splitt second shots)

I could play planet earth(25 gig discs) normallly.
But I think it's because of the mpeg 4 codec in the newer discs?

Is there a special codec I could dl? I already got the latest patch from pdvd.

There's a few possibilities... if you can provide some more info we can get to the bottom of it.

What are your system specs (Processor, RAM, video card)???
What movie(s) are causing the problem?
What version of PowerDVD are you using?

Then, hopefully, we can get it solved. Basically, there's a few possibilities:

1) Your system isn't up to decoding high-bitrate AVC titles
2) The disc has issues with PowerDVD that haven't been addressed in the latest patch

or

3) PowerDVD is an insanely flaky program that periodically decides not to work for no reason whatsoever.

What are the specs of your system??? There is no codec you need to download if you already have powerdvd installed.
