Default PS3 to get DTS HD MA confirmed by PM!

Penton-man has confirmed that we will get the much anticipated and long awaited DTS-HD MA.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...postcount=1804

Now I wonder how soon.

We'll, I've been following the format war since Spring/summer of 06 and let me say that everything that Penton-man said/confirmed always came to pass. And this is something that Sony has control over so it's just a matter of waiting.

This is great news!

Pretty good news from an insider. But since it is from an insider, not the company, I'll wait till an anouncement from Sony and a date of firmware release to believe it fully. But if this is true, sweet.

This was never really in doubt but it is nice to be confirmed by such a high level insider. What will people moan about now with the PS3? It can't iron clothes? I hear that might be coming in firmware 4.56.

I think paid said this a while ago but its more of when the other CE companies start implementing it is when the PS3 while do so also. Good stuff though.

I'm glad that DTS MA is finally coming. Now I don't have to go buy a really expensive 7.1 reciever just for Master Audio.

I beleive it. Theres no reason for it NOT to come out.
I would still rather have an official word fro sony though.

Even if this is true, I still will probably buy a stand alone player just to try and extend the life of my PS3.

My complaint was that it can't make me tea.. though I suppose it could if I bothered to rig a USB/Bluetooth-triggered coffee maker and wrote a Linux app to turn it on at a set time.

Having it iron would be somewhat more difficult.

Default PS3 and DTS/HD MA

I would guess this would be internal decoding , and output as Multi-channel PCM?

Plug-in the 60GB unit .. run Folding@Home .. stand on vented end ..the only difficult bit depends on arm strength.
