I'm all for something that will bring back more selection in 70+" screens that aren't a billion dollars.

How long have we been talking about Laser TV? Seems like forever and we have yet to see one in action. OLED seems to be coming along much better.

I remember reading about Laser TVs a long time ago, then reading a followup saying that it was a hoax, there was no evidence of any such Laser TV. I haven't read the attached link on this thread though, because I think it's just the same rumor going around. Go OLED.

I don't know if this counts as evidence for you but here:

I, for one, am sincerely hoping that Mitsubishi can release these sometime in 2008 so that the bugs can get worked out for me to buy a 70"+ by Black Friday 2009 without having to take out a second mortgage!

Laser company Coherent demonstrated a Laser TV prototype and the footage was shown on Kron 4 (a San Francisco Bay Area TV channel). Click here if you'd like to watch the video.

Laser TV's promise the most colors, fastest picture, and best longevity without fading like Plasma TV.

Oh, sweet lord. "Within 18 months", eh? Would you happen to know how long ago this report was done? Local programing doesn't give much away.
THIS is the answer to my wishes and desires.

Crap, sorry. Fall of 2008. It helps to read everything before asking jack-assey questions.
In fact, here's another one: Won't be sold at BB or CC, only "high-end" retailers. Like where? Is the price going to be comparable to LCD, or to DLP, which is the same price for 25-50% larger.
