Default Burning with Laptop what are my options?

I have found little information for burning Blu-ray with my Lenovo T60p. A highly capable Laptop with discrete 256 meg graphics card. I have two choices.

1. To install a Discontinued Panasonic UJ-210 or UJ-215 Blu-Ray Writer. Only burns at 1x and why discontinued?
2. Use an external Blu ray Burner such as the LaCie 2x

What do you recommend?

Default My Laptop has a 9.5 mm Drive space

Looks like external only...

The Panasonic drives need a 12.7mm drive slot.
Includes the UJ-225 and UJ-210 or UJ-215

I have a question too...

Is there an internal Blu-ray drive available for Laptops? If so, what would be the best fit for my sooped up Dell XPS M170?

I'm willing to spend around $300-$500 if they're available.

Any info would be great.

Thanks, James

Default Yes they are available

You need to find out the what size your internal DVD/CD drive is. If it is 12.7 mm you are in luck. All the internal drives I have mentioned are 12.7 mm and would fit.

Not sure of the size but let's assume it is 12.7 for now...

How much? Where to buy? Can they also burn music CD's?
