Has anyone ever gone? My wife and I have always wanted to go and my uncle has been wanting to go also. We've been trying to get a big group together and think of a project to do for it as well.

It is not that great. For a lot of people that go it is a year around lifestyle. There are also a lot of normal people that go, and there are a TON of Nevada students that spend a day or two up there...

I personally think it is the most disgusting showing of nasty people and insane idiology I have ever seen. I cant stand anything about it, and I generally dont like the type of personality that makes the trip more than once.

BUT, PLENTY of people like it, you will get to meet amazing numbers of people from all kinds of backgrounds, from wannabe-hippies without jobs, to prfessional old white men... You get to see things that you normally never get to see (it is a real SUPER community feeling IMO). You should bring everything you need your first time, and some extra to trade with...

My advice is that if you can afford it (it is a chunk) and you are at all interested, load up and roll. It wont be the worst expierence of your life, and will be ranked as one of the most unique.

far out man, haha never gone to burning man since im not anywhere near the area, but there is a campground about an hour and a half from my house that hosts something kinda similar, without the gigantic burning man, a few times a year that ive been to, and it was incredible!
