If you want a Sony link, here it is from their blog:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/...d-live-to-ps3/

So much for the theory about Sony holding back until another BD-Live player is released. No excuse on that front for DTS-MA.

Holy Cow!! It includes "Resume Play" also. For me personally, that's a much more useful feature than Profile 2.0. But who knows, maybe I'll get addicted to using some of the internet features of 2.0.

Resume play on non-BD-J titles, though, according to the footnotes.

Aren't most Blu-ray movies authored using BD-J? That would sort of make the "Resume Play" function pretty useless if it is confined only to non BD-J titles.

And what about this BDMV exception with the "mosquito noise" feature? Granted, this feature may only be really useful for legacy DVD playback. Still, some BD content could be severely compressed and derive benefit from such a feature.

Voice Play on the PS3 is pretty pathetic.. i couldn't even talk in Army of Two because it was crapping on me with everyone even my friend. Work like a charm on the 360...

But the PS3 is more stable tought..

I though BD live was comming in the summer? and doesint sony want a standalone to have it first?....................................oh well and did you see those other update's?
BD-Live (Profile v2.0) Upgrade
"Resume play" will enable PS3 system to start playing a Blu-ray disc and DVD at the point it was stopped, even if the disc had been removed. (*1)
"Audio Output Device" will be a new Remote Play setting, enabling PSP to serve as a remote control for music played through PS3.
PS3 system's Internet browser will be enhanced: Video files directly linked from a Web page will be able to be streamed, and the browser's view speed will be improved. DivX and WMV format videos that are larger than 2GB will be playable.
"Mosquito Noise Reduction" will be added as an AV setting in the control panel of the DVD/BD player for improved movie playback. (*2)

now i can download movies over 2gig's and whats that noise reduction thing?

Not all. Most of the Warner titles are not BD-J. Early Sony titles and some Fox, too, I think. Basically, any disc that doesn't have a "loading" graphic at the beginning and otherwise starts right up without delay.

No, it still holds true. Sony wants to keep PS3 momentum going, but doesn't want to show all their cards. They've outsold XBOX last month, and they'll want to keep things rolling.

They'll but BD-Live on (so people can play the movies with new content and capability), but will withhold DTS-HD MA until after the new players are out to give the makers of THOSE players some sort of marketability. Within two months (three if they really want to drag it out...) of THAT release, you'll see MA come to PS3

That douchebag "Swanni" ain't got Nuthin' on me!!!

Cheers, Doc.
