PS3 firmware 2.36 is live - Blu-ray Forum

I just updated firmware 2.36 for my PS3. Dont know what are included in this firware udpate..

From posts on other sites, it's a very minor update. It's stated that 2.36 has a few security fixes and helps a couple of titles with compatibility issues.

2.4 is the next release that will have some feature updates.

I think a lot of people wanted 2.4 for today so they repackaged 2.35 and changed the name to 2.36 to give people something to have just so the day isn't a total waste.

(I'm tempted to skip it as I bet I don't have any of the games that need fixing but what the heck it's easy enough to do the update so might as well.)

Why skip it? It takes nothing to download it at all. You just wanted to say something.

Seriously though.. if you look back in time, when I dl-ed the 2.35 update that same day my AVR developed a problem with it's HDMI board and started making crazy noise from the speakers. Since my PS3 is the only HDMI thing I have I couldn't tell if the PS3 or the AVR was at fault. Having just updated the FW... I thought it was the PS3's fault. It took a while to sort out. I often don't have the games that are fixed by these little FW updates and I don't play online much or use the store so I really could sit one out but ... anyway.. it's too easy to do so I just do the update everytime.
