Default Sony's start up logo on blu-rays

Man, talk about a unflattering design concept. That rainbow cloud burst looks so dated. You would think that for showcasing blu-ray that the first thing you see would be totally bombastic yet you get this weaksauce intro. It makes my plasma look like a early LCD.

On the flip side I love the new Disney Pictures logo intro (the CGI one), and get goosebumps everytime I hear the fireworks go off. Even though it is just in DD, it still sounds awesome with my speakers!

Edit: Damn I just read out loud what I typed and man do I sound like a

just wondering, anyone know if any of Sony's Blu-Ray Players have the "Splash Page" Option? like some of there Basic DVD Players? I would guess there has to be left over room on Blu Disc's for it.

Splash is the "Poster Art" that some DVD's have when you stop the Disc like in the LOTR Films.

I just find the "Poster Art" cool at lease the ones from studio's that try. A lot I have seen are just a Pic of the main menu! and that is (IMHO) the lazy no time for art studio's.

thanks for any info.

Kind of along the same lines as this, I would like to see all studios expand what shows on screen when the BDMV is selected on the PS3 XMB. I like how Sony has slightly utilized it by showing a small picture and the title of the disc. What I would like to see is the same for a PS3 game downloaded with a full screen background with audio (like maybe a piece of music from the movie).

I like the Disney logo also.

But the one that blew me away was New Line's in front of Shoot Em Up. Wow!

Rainbows? I hate those things. You'll just be sitting there minding your own business and they'll come marching in and crawl up your leg and start biting the inside of your ass and you'll be all like, hey!, get out of my ass you stupid rainbows!

Well, yes. On a certain plane of existence, that happens all the time. In normal space, it's not nearly as prevalent.

(Note: Been watching the entire series of Star Trek: Voyager in recent weeks.)

Fox has the best intro logo with the Fox music playing. It's also nice how many of their titles like to incorporate that logo into the opening credits or play off of it.
