Default Stargate: Ark of Truth

How do you intend to manage the first Stargate direct to DVD movie in terms of buying, renting, standard DVD and blu ray.

I specifically post this as I'm very conflicted. I want to support MGM for making these kinds of features, but I really just want the Blu Ray, which is sadly not Day and Date (or even announced)

I really want to support this initiative by the Stargate/MGM team, so this is one of the few times I'll buy a DVD in order to support them for what I really want - Ark and Continuum on Blu-ray.

I'll by whatever they release first. If it's DVD and they release blu-ray later, I'll buy the blu-ray when it becomes available.

I'm buying the DVD. I want to show my support for the series. The creators of the show said if the first two SG-1 movies sale well, then they'll continue SG-1 as movies series, making about two per year.

If they announce that Ark of Truth is coming to Blu-ray before the DVD release then I'll wait and buy it on Blu-ray

I'll get both the DVD's, and perhaps both the Blu-rays regardless of whether I have Blu-ray hardware yet. I'm still on the ropes on what kind of HDTV is best, but as for BD hardware, I've got my eye on the Panasonic DMP-BD50.

I'm definitely going to have to buy the DVD to show my support. Stargate is worth a double-dip for me. So, if MGM decides they want to release the Blu-ray version down the road, it won't hurt my feelings and I'll pony up for that one too.

Double dipping for me won't be too hard, because my collection of DVD's are mostly boxed sets. It's not that much anyway.

If it's offered on Blu-Ray, I'll buy it. I've been a fan since Day 1.

This one wraps up the Ori storyline from the series. There is also a second direct to video movie already in production that deals with an alternate timeline.

..called Continuum. A behind the scenes preview of which can be found at:
http://stargate.mgm.com/video.php?id=64

..where Amanda Tapping says, "..absolutely visually stunning!"
Now if that doesn't plead for Blu-ray.

I really want this movie, I've been hearing great things and plan to get it when it's out March 11th. I like what they've got going on over at the myspace too, like this:

And, to note, Stargate Atlantis latest episode 'Midway' was propably the best I've seen - they are really firing on all cylinders.

Thumbs up Stargate

I already ordered the regular DVD from Amazon and it came yesterday. Its a great movie and really calls out for Blu-Ray. If this movie does well enough then I am sure they will announce a Blu-Ray release soon. I will buy that one as well.

Where is the Blu-ray release?... Damn!

I don't wanna shell out on the DVD when a blu-ray release will come out inevitably!

All that 35mm filmed goodness!
