Default How do you connect?

I bought an HDTV back in 2000 for $6000 and have yet to update. Now of course it does not have an hdmi connector, so I had to resort to using component 1080i. I'm just curious how many other people are using inferior technology.

So far I use component for my 34'' 16:9 1080i CRT set and HDMI for a 720p 32'' set...

Soon I'll have a new 1080p 50'' set which will be connected via HDMI

But I wouldn't call component an inferior technology... Perhaps analog technology!

no doubt. im sure you can picture my old hdtv -- 380 pound 57" crt. back then it was one of the best. i can remember the first time i saw a picture on that screen. i was using a progressive scan dvd player and was terribly dissatisfied with the picture. at that point i began to look into High Definition media. it wasn't until 2002 (approx.) that i heard of Blu-ray (HD-dud wasnt even around at that point). i was stoked about Blu-ray, let me tell ya.

Projector has DVI - good enough for me.

The bigger issue for me is my Onkyo 705. Component input only, so no lossless for me.

It seems like the majority is taking full advantage of Blu-ray. Good to hear.

HDMI 1080i right now, my TV is only 32"... down the road, now that I have bought a PS3, upgraded my speakers and receiver, I will get a nicer TV that supports 1080p.
