Tell the Blu-ray guys to flood the moderators box with messages about the HD DVD guys. Don't let up 'til they do something.

After 6 years at AVS as a club member whitch you have to pay.
I was banned for 31 days for showing my concerns of BD bashing, As far I am concerned they can bann me for 31 years
now. Its pretty obvious tey are backing HDDVD whitch is a no no for me. very disturbing.

Then its obvious that MS has paid off AVS at the highest level. Pathetic.

I think Alan is a pretty good guy. He runs a good business, he's run a very good forum over the years. Problem here is that I suspect he's probably been off to CES and hasn't been able to follow what been going on. He put some moderators in charge while he was gone who seem to have an HD-DVD bias and it's reflecting badly on him and his business.

I have to disagree. I am the Vice Administrator at a large website that has forums with 40k members. The owner would never put someone in charge if he does not agree with their actions. Either he just totally lost touch and didnt pay attention or he agrees with what is going on. The admins have mod logs that tell you what has been done by each mod. Every little action. He knows exactly what has been done by each mod simply by looking at the logs, and apparently he does not disagree.

If THIS POST in the most ridiculous, troll thread posted in the HD-DVD area, by Mark Rubin doesn't clearly show his bias nothing will. Here is an entire troll thread, bringing politics, religion, stupidity as reasons people support Blu-ray yet it remains open. Not only does it remain open, Mark Rubin treats them with kid gloves. I don't have a problem with Alan. I do have a problem with Mark Rubin who has single handedly all but shut down the Blu-ray forum over there.

Guys, anything Blu to discus? I will never get banned over there, or at least I won't know, as I haven't been over there for a very very long time and have no intentions of going back. Sure I enjoy one of their "blooper" posts that put over here as much as the next guy, but do we really need a relay of the others site banning and locking activities. This is not directed at this thread in particular, but there are a number (or at least it seems that way) of threads here on the go over the last few days. There is so much good stuff going on at the moment, I think anyone that has invested in Blu ray need not be concerned of it becoming obsolete anytime soon and although no earth shattering announcements at the CES only positive news coming out relating to Blu ray and supporting components.

This thread is not in danger of being locked but you have all been banned (joke - for anyone slow on the uptake). Hint if you do want to get banned here, you too can in RECORD time, don't even think about sticking up Spam especially if an explicit photo is attached like someone has just tried (I know, I can't help being a kill joy).

If anyone feels they are missing out because they haven't been warned - YOU HAVE NOW BEEN WARNED.

Anyone new that hasn't been welcomed, WELCOME. Good that's all the admin tasks out of the road, now where were we, that's right hijacking a thread.

I've had enough direct run ins with Alan to know that he's not much different than Mark is.

I've had enough insulting PMs, emails, and threats from Alan in the past that sound eerily like Mark's, so you're dead on with this post, believe me.

I agree with Blue also: We really don't need to have nonstop dedicated threads for every fart that happens at AVS or other forums. We do have a running "Here to Stay" chat thread in the Off Topic areas where we post anything we want, including stuff like that, and rant and have our good time with it. Probably ought to keep it minimized like that.

It just comes to a point where, very simply, the Internet is a large, vast expanse. If you're not happy at a given place, stop going there.

I agree with JTK on this as well.

My suggestion is that, now that we're PAST the CES event and things are settling in on all forums, that a couple of changes happen here to ensure a good future for this forum.

1) The "here to stay" thread continues in off-topic as it has
2) a separate topic in off-topic is started along the lines of "Outside Watch" where all posts related other forums and their antics are kept.

This stuff needs to start being contained. It's one thing during a big event like CES. But now that it's over, it needs to get out of the public view, which I believe off-topic is. There doesn't need to be multiple threads across multiple forums for it. We want NEW folks coming in here now to know that we're here to talk about BD in its hardware, software and other format issues.

So many of us have "come from outside" that it's only natural - and in some cases needed - to keep an eye on other locations. The "Here to stay thread" is ideal for future "refugees" if you want to call them that. A separate thread to talk about various inconsistencies, FUD and outright lies would be useful as well for those that are interested. Those who aren't don't have to see them everywhere.

YOu guys have to read here, from post 574 on.
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...&page=20&pp=30

It seems Amir is trying to suggest that there will not be BD50's on the THD discs due to availability.

Read my post back to him..I mean, what the frig is going on over there?

I will be interested to see what he says.

After the BS news of a Meridian player, Amir denying it, then a press releasing saying NO PLAYER, how can anyone trust a word he says anymore? Hes like a executive version of TSD.

BTW, is amir's job on the line if HD-DVD loses? If so, he should prep that resume!

I think it would be harsh to fire Amir if HD DVD loses, it was kind of inevitable, they will probably just move him to their digital distribution (IPTV on the Xbox).

During the Vs conference at CES, he said his job is to make sure HD-DVD does not die. If it does, which it will, i wonder the consequences.

Yep. Notice he didn't say his job was to help HD DVD succeed. It only has to survive.

What an ally!

As has been said many times: Microsoft doesn't give a damn about HD DVD. What they care about is VC-1 use for content. And stopping further use of Java.
