Just picked up 'There Will Be Blood'

Just picked this up tonight and am watching it as I type this. First off, I saw this in the theater and LOVED it. In my opinion it was the best movie of the year. That being said, this movie could REALLY benefit from a blu-ray release. The picture on the standard dvd is pretty bad. There is ALOT of grain and colors are really washed out. I can only imagine how great this would look in HD! The desert landscapes would look amazing! Not to mention how great the piercing score would be on blu! Please Paramount, get busy on this one! Even if you release NOTHING else this year. I want this one on blu so bad!

yeah blu-style i am curious to see what everyone else thinks of this standard version dvd. i mean if ever there was a movie that deserved the blu treatment, IMO it is this one! My wife even noticed the difference for the first time tonight when I put this in. She has just become so used to watching Blu's that I think she never really realized how much of a difference there really was!
By the way, I also picked up 'Dewey Cox' and 'Before the Devil Knows Your Dead' on Blu. I haven't watched them yet but will post a quick review when I do!

Thanks OP. You reminded me to add this to my NetFlix Queue. Netflix lists this are an April 8 release. You got this title pretty early.

I too can't wait for this on Blu. But I'll take Transformers with lossless audio first.

That's actually not good to hear, since a future Blu-ray release would probably come from the same master, if that is indeed the source of the problem.

If you live in or near NYC you can get just about ANY title up to a month before it streets. ALL the shops around here completely ignore the street dates. Like I said, I also picked up Dewey Cox and Before the Devil Knows Your Dead on Blu-ray yesterday. Its not rare at all to get titles early here.
