Default Question: Inserting Banana plugs into Receiver!!

Hi everyone, I have a question, hope you guys can help
I have the Denon 3808, which is new about a month old, I recently received these new speaker cables, I just tried to fit them into the receiver but they seem a bit big I don't seem to be able to insert them into the receiver?
Am I doing something wrong?
How do you fit these plugs into the receiver, the holes seem a bit smaller?
Any advice will be appreciated, thanks

You need to apply a bit of pressure. Not a whole lot, it should go in fairly easy, but there needs to be some tension to hold it in there.

I don't think there are different sizes of banana plugs.

Banana plugs will be a tight fit for sure. Just make sure you hold the connector on the back of the receiver firmly, so you don't break loose any internal solder points or circuit boards.

OK I rang up DENON and I found out what was wrong, apparently some Receivers have protective black caps on the terminals, all you need to do is get a SELF TAPPING screw & gently insert it into the RED OR BLACK terminal & twist one or two turns (dont need to apply much pressure at all) & pull out the protective cap & then insert the banana plugs in to the receiver, worked just fine!!!!

I guess you learn something everyday
