Default A lot of HD-DVD fans switching side

Many of them tuck their tails between their legs, and quietly withdraw from the battlefield or purchace a PS3

...and OMG the spins and FUDs they're spreading there are nauseating

...and they're constantly doing this stupid poll trying to comfort each other, show of strength, blah, blah...

I notice there is no option for switching to HD DVD.

Every day of silence from Universal, is screaming out something.

Even Bill Hunt is asking "why?" about Universal departing the field of battle without warning.

My biggest beef is with the most of the bloggers at joystiq.com. That site has to have the dumbest people typing the dumbest opinions I've ever read. Im at the point where Im done arguing with them and I want them to buy into hddvd so they all get royally screwed with a format that won't go anywhere and will be dead in a year or so.

Please waste your money.....I wont stop you. In fact you will see me in a year or so laughing at you...

Actions speak louder than words. Kudos to those who realize they were duped by Amir & Co. with misleading statements and outright lies, and are now seeing the light.

I said a long time ago there and elsewhere... if you have to buy one format, it was best to buy BD. Reason being, Sony is basically NEVER going to release on HD DVD. Therefore, your ultimate downside is having a $500 PS3 that you keep around to play Sony Pictures titles. The upside with BD is huge. It is just the opposite with HD DVD. Low upside, big downside.

Also, this is just the beginning...you guys are going to be REALLY happy, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I don't think many people on this forum were ever duped by Amir, his lies are becoming more transparent lately so even the most hardcore of HD DVD fanboi is starting to see through them.

People on AVS don't understand that the worst that could happen to Blu-ray is that it becomes a proprietary standard for the PS3, but for HD DVD the worst that can happen is that it will go the way of the Dodo. Extinct, for ever.

An AVS "insider" who works for Microsoft's HD-DVD group.

On one level, I feel sorry for them. Some of the HD-DVD backers were unknowingly deceived by the lies and misinformation. Now they've wasted a lot of money on a format that doesn't have a future.

I knowingly bought into D-Theater a few years ago because there was absolutely nothing else available for watching packaged HD content. It was enjoyable to me, but I knew that it's days were numbered - it was only a stopgap format. I sold my player at a slight loss. The funny thing was that I made a small fortune on the movie collection. When those titles went out of print on D-VHS, some of them like Alien - Director's Cut sold on eBay almost 4X what I paid for it!

There won't be much of a market for used HD-DVD stuff because there is a thriving new HD format - Blu-ray.

The people I don't pity, are the liars and propagandists (like certain M$ employees) and die-hard loyalists who never really objectively evaluated Blu-ray after mid-November.

I understand that. Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant people over at AVS.

Did you guys see the "Everything's OK" & "I'm more bullish than ever" essays over in the AVS Insider's Thread from Amir and Ben? They should retitle that thread "damage control".

This is getting quite sad watching some people holding on by a string get further manipulated and consoled by someone whom they don't even know. Unbeleivable. Amir is talking out of his @ss with all of these comments about Total HD never using BD50 on one side, telling people that Universal has his feedback about the disappointment, etc. He's trying to play it off like he's on their side, but he's manipulating them. Unbelievable.

Someone who knows how to cut and paste should go to the AVS "Insiders thread" and post Amir's plea to his supporters over here. Clearly a sign of desperation with a bunch of "just wait" and "good news is coming".

I still don't understand why people still believe him, he told people the same thing. "just wait", "CES is round the corner". Nothing happened at CES, the only real news was Toshiba announcing a mid-market player for $600. None of the exclusive titles that Amir had promised were "just around the corner at CES".

Well, he could be a nice guy that just has to tow the MS-HDDVD line, but it was pretty funny when he was quoted as saying BD50's were "science fiction" last year, and then a few weeks later Sony dropped the Click surprise BD50 bombshell. Let's just say he was taken to task for that

OK, here we go with pathetically weak damage control to the Osborne effect (the real demise of HD DVD):

And that is all for now.
Don't worry until you're told it isn't compatible?! What kind of response is that?

Maybe that's his secret confirmation that there'll be no triple layer discs...

TL discs really are science fiction, BD has shown a BD100 and a BD200, but HD DVD people seem to think that they will never come to market, Toshiba announce a TL51 without showing one at CES, and HD DVD guys act like they are already out. Weird.
