Hey,

Don't know if I can help but when you say you paid extra to have it play Blu Ray do you mean you alter-ed the configuration of the notebook to add the Blu Ray drive?

If that's the case,... they may not have been enough to assure that Blu Ray movies will play back. You have to have various conditions met to play back Blu Ray movies on computers. If I search maybe I can find a link to an online configuration test for you.

If you just ordered a notebook and had them substitute the drive with a Blu Ray drive then you may not meet the configuration needs for Blu Ray playback.

I haven't found the info I was looking for yet but found one guide.

EDIT- By the way,.. I haven't been very PC savvy for years but... Does the computer recognize the drive itself as the one you mention-ed? You can look in the device manager and see what the PC recognizes the drive as. It's possible that the drive isn't the one you ordered. Look at the drive and see if Blu Ray is indicated on the tray.

First off Run one or both of these
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli.../1193332030582

and/or

http://www.cyberlink.com/english/sup.../diagnosis.jsp

if that green lights for everything, then its a matter of what program you're using to play bluray movies....

You should/have to buy either windvd 9 plus
or Cyberlink ultra 8
one of those will be needed to play back blu

the oem discs and so on aren't worth a shart
