Default What router do you use?

What brand router do you have and how well does it work? If you REALLY like your router, what model is it?

(ie drops etc)

I did a search and found a lot of other people have problems with the Linksys WRT54G that I have and some others dont...

I am looking to get a new router, and I think everyone can take advatage of a thread like this at some point...

I use a linksys WRT160N & f'n love it. I use it with 3 Ps3's an iphone & Mac Book Pro. My signal is always 90% to 100% even down the block lol. I'm not familiar with the model you mentioned?? Is is a G router? The one I have is a N so it is fast & the signal is very very good I'm inpressed by it all the way around,& would recommend it very highly.

Have a D-link 524, works excellent with the PS3, PSP, and my LFV30 locationfree box. the uPnP support is good, as is the port forwarding. Only issue is poor firefox support on the web interface. The wifi security settings page(during installation)work correctly only when using ie

Other than that an excellent router.

i've had nothing but bad experiences from my 2 previous linksys routers. now i've got a d-link DI-724GU office router, best router i've ever had. never dropped a signal in the time i've had it; not that i'm ever that far fom it but 10 metres and 5 walls away i still get full bars. USB print server built in, QoS, gigabit, 108G wireless, all the bells and whistles. it's more on the expensive side for a router but you get what you pay for, right?

I had the Linksys WRT54G and it worked great. I just switched last week to the Apple Airport Extreme for faster speeds and greater distance. So far, so good.

I use and recommend the Linksys routers, especially the wireless ones, and Netgear switches. I avoid like the plague anytning from D-Link!

I sell my Linksys WRT64G because its disconnect to much and the signal is not good and only have WEP encryption.

Yesterday I bought a Netgear WGT624 and works like a charm.
Its super easy to configure with a CD walkthrough and have WAP2 encryption too. The signal is strong in and out of my house.

I use a NetGear and its awesome. I had a Linksys and it was a pretty bad experience. I constantly had to reboot the piece of crap. The signal keep fading in and out. Just a nightmare.

Well if you want the best, too bad they are out of many peoples price range. I think it is funny how the Linksys brand plasters the Cisco name all over their packaging, however the quality is nowhere the same.

I use a Netgear Wireless G router.

I read a post a couple of weeks ago in which a pro installer recommended anything by netgear.

I noticed one post here in which the user was unhappy with their netgear product. Can anyone clear this up, because I'd like to learn more about this too.

Also...within that same post, it was recommended to use switches over hubs.

I use a common home Linksys router... does the job, requires the occasional reboot, but it seems that with the latest PS3 firmware I haven't had to do a reboot in a few weeks.
