I'm using 3COM 3CRWDR101A-75, which is combined with a DSL modem, haven't had any issues so far.

50 foot Ethernet cable, if you could do this, would be much better than any kind of wireless router. Wireless is flexible and easy to use but there could be interruptions and or reduced speed due to interference. However, in some places wireless works as a charm. Cat 5 Ethernet Cable is highly reliable and no interruptions or reduced speed due to interference.

*ANY* "g" or Draft "n" wireless router will work fine!
54mbps(22-24mbps nominal) is far beyond anything that you will ever need for playing games. NOTE A microwave oven(leaky) or some cordless phones may cause interference which 'usually' just decreases the connection speed from 54mbps. This may, or may not, cause glitches in game play. Hope this helps! |

You don't really need to get a N router because the hardware inside the PS3 is only G. But an N router will still work with the PS3, I am just throwing that out there in case you're on a tight budget.

You definately don't need an 802.11 draftN router. They are still overpriced and really have no significant use over an above the 802.11G unless you plan on streaming HD content (wirelessly) on your network. So if you are only needing it for a PS3 then get a G router. Wait until the prices come down on N technology first, especially when the draft 2.0 is finalized and ratified to final spec.
