Default I Don't understand something about BR transfers -

I finally got to watch my whole Sweeney Todd BR disc.

With just a little NR the thing looks fine. I even gave in and lowered
My XBR brightness to 38 and the PQ is even more stunning.

Anyway, some scenes are sharp, detailed and punchy. A total joy to watch.

Other scenes however are laden with snow and other noise. After the noisy scenes end, the PQ is again stunning.

What is actually happening here? Is it the transfer? Is it a Chinese
counterfeit? Am I the only one? Why can't DREAMWORKS make an 100%
perfect BR movie?

Which version do you have? My UK one is excellent has none of what you describe.

Could be a regional thing IDK.

A Blu-ray transfer can only be as good as the source. A lot of the time different film stocks are used for different scenes in a movie. Some with a grainer quality than others. Lighting conditions can also affect the look of one scene over another. Its unreasonable to expect movies shot on film to be crystal clear and grain free.
