It really is not that big a of a deal, they said 1m by Dec. 31, they did it by Jan. 10, so that means that they are 10 days behind schedule, wow!

One thing about this article is that they claim that people think the product is to high. I have read that it is estimated that Sony is selling the Playstation 3 below cost and losing between $200-$300 a unit in hopes to make it up on the games. XBOX when it was first launched was sold $100 below manufactories costs.
Playstation 3 is a great value and the X-BOX is really the same price or a $100 more expensive once someone adds the HD-DVD add on drive to watch movies.
