I Spit on Your Grave Blu-ray Release? - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know if "I Spit On Your Grave" will ever be released on Blu-ray? I'm thinking of buying it on standard DVD, but I won't if there's a blu release somewhere along the track. It's a very arty film, so it'd be nice to see it in High-Def.

Get the millenium edition. The movie isn't going to look much better given it's age and such.

The Millenium Edition is a really nice set though. Including the Joe Bob Briggs commentary.

Not really a movie worth multiple veiws let alone a blu-ray release.
Good flick though.

I agree. I just can't see watching movies like this over and over again. I think I'd go numb...

I haven't seen this flick, but judging from its reputation and low budget qualities, I doubt you will see this on Blu any time soon, if ever.

Don't let that info fool you.

Yes, the rape scene is very brutal and harsh. And incredibly unpleasent to watch.

But the movie is really all about female empowerment. But yeah, it's not for everyone.

The first half of the movie is about the description above and the second half (which is not mentioned) is about her taking revenge on them. Ultimately it is a revenge flick that spares nothing to the imagination to stir up hated - making the revenge scenes more satisfying. This was banned for awhile in many countries - and maybe still is.

I think it still is. Or heavily, heavily cut to the point of being a flash on the screen and then credits.

I'd much rather see a BD release of I Stand Alone (I know a bit off topic, but it just jumped in my mind when I was reading the thread's title)

Anyways, its an ok movie. But I seriously doubt that BD will be good for this one, it is a low budget exploitation movie, and thus I am sure the PQ and AQ wont get any better than DVD release. So to the OP, get the Millennium Edition!

Something I find quite hilarious about this film is that in the end, none of the men get buried, hence, no graves and no spitting. A guy is hanged, left to float away in the water, the next guy is emasculated and locked in the bathroom, and the next two guys get chopped with an axe, never to be seen again.

Yep, it remains banned in many countries to this day; Australia have only just lightened up to it and lifted the ban, releasing it completely uncut with an R rating.

I guess I'll just get the standard DVD, although looking closely at it, the video quality of the .avi file I have on my computer is excellent, and would look superb in High-Def. Thanks guys.
