Default I Spit on Your Grave.....remake.

I know a lot of people have major disdain for remakes these days, but I've been watching the progress (or lack thereof) of this project for a while. I know that the news is somewhat old, but there was a plan on remaking this cult classic movie. No new developments in quite some time. Do you think this project died?

I hope for the love of god that it has. Loved the original and there is no reason to touch it. Really see no point in this one.

I think the original has it's place in history and time. No reason for a remake, I'd like to see new IPs being developed instead of rehashing a classic. The DVD is worth owning mainly for the Joe Bob Briggs video commentary.

I know there are people that won't want to see this, and there are people who are sick of all the remakes, but to this I say:

SWEET!

Thumbs down

This is one movie they should never touch..Hollywood would just dilute the subject matter to get a PG13 rating and the movie wound never work....

If this is an exact re-make of the original then it will be a very very limited release I don't see any major theater chain showing this movie.

Wow, I just saw the trailer on Movie-List.com , I didn't know this was being re-made. How will they even do it? Its not like they will do the rape scenes as graphic as the original, so it wont have any notoriety... whats the point?

Of all the films to remake, they choose this one

Boy this movie looks like crap. I never saw it, but read the entire plot on a site a while ago and basically feared it. From my understanding, all DVDs of the film aren't available and are OOP. I wonder if when this remake comes out, there will be like a new Special Edition version.

IMO this movie was a complete waste of celluloid and no remake should ever be considered. If y'all like it fine, but it's one of those few that I will never watch again and will never have the desire to view the remake at all.

The original is a classic and I can't wait to get my hands on it when it comes out on Blu...as for the remake...now that one looks like total crap.

I saw this at the World premiere here at the Montreal Fantasia Festival tonight. http://www.fantasiafest.com/blog/

I haven't seen the original (i know shame on me :P) but i had heard of it before and it's cult status so i wanted to check this one out and it was pretty good. While i can't compare both movies, i can at least say the remake was a good movie in it's own right.

[Show spoiler]The rape is pretty darn long and painful to watch and the revenge is the best part of the movie. There's some really inventive sick kills in this movie (again i don't know if they copied the kills from the first movie or not) that made the audience squirm in their seats.

It did kind of feel like a Saw movie though, with the 'traps' and the torture. but i like sick torture, but hey that's just me :P

I assume if someone really loves and worships the original just the idea of this remake makes them wanna spit on it but as a movie on it's own it was good.

The Actress and director were present and there was a Q & A and they said Anchor Bay will distribute the movie in october in it's uncut unrated form (which is what i saw) the MPAA wanted over 100 cuts to turn it into an R and they refused, so it's coming out unrated in theaters.

This movie should not even be touch for a remake, reboot, rehash or whatever Hollywood is trying to do. If they do remake it as faithful to the original, I'm not sure if any theater would be willing to release it due to it's extreme controversial content. The original is a brutal film.

Well, they are making it regardless.

I hate to be that guy but I must admit the trailer looks great. Of course, I own the original on dvd and have watched it several times. One time I watched it with my then GF and she actually broke down and cried because of the brutality in that film...After all these years I still feel this is one of the most messed up movies I have ever seen.
