Default The hub on my Enchanted case is too tight

Has anyone else noticed that the center hole of the Enchanted Blu-ray disc is way too tight? On my copy, it takes a work out just to get the disc off of the prong in the BD case.

It plays fine. But when trying to pop the disc back onto BD case prong, the center hole seems to be too tight for the prong. I literally have to force the disc onto the prong before it pops into position.

Is this normal or should I request a replacement disc? It just seems like the Enchanted hole is just too tight to slip onto the prong. Perhaps it is defective, even though it plays just fine.

Hmmmm, I could have *sworn* this was some sort of porn message. If it had been from a female member of the forum...

(Sorry, couldn't resist).

In any case, the one I bought does not have this problem (in case that helps).

It's not just on this movie. I have experienced many BD holes that either the hole is too tight or the prongs configuration is set too close together for a proper fit of the BD hole. I have even had a few prongs break off due to this. Then it makes the disk fit loose and sloppy when inserting the disk back in.

Have you tried maybe lubricating the hole? May help it glide on there easier...

You know...I saw the title of this thread and I thought to myself...that has to be Nycomet, and sure enough, it is my friend!!!!

Anywho back on topic

I've always found that when you have a tight Enchanted hole, to get it back on the prong you have to take it nice and slow sometimes.

On further investigation, it seems that the hole isn't the problem; it's the size of the prong.

My Water Horse has a bigger prong than others. Mrs. Doubtfire's hole slips around the prong and barely makes contact. I'm concerned that my BDs might get damaged if they slip off of a small prong, then flop around in the case.

The prong should be "one size fits all." Perhaps some case manufacturers have loosened their specification on prongs size. Or perhaps it's the diverse range of prong configurations that is causing the extra tightness or extra looseness of the hole.

In any event, I will be very careful when mounting the tight holes back onto the bigger prongs. As for the smaller prongs, the loose holes might become a problem. I certainly do not want my discs to get scratched because they slip off of the smaller prong and shuffle around in the case.

That was my concern as well. The disk comes loose and just flops around the prongs which could irritate the surface of the disk.

I've only come across this once before. It was on my Blue Peter disc set.

I've found that if you gently jiggle around the prongs, that the disc hole is more than receptive. It's not an exact science, but the one thing you don't want to do is force it. The circumference of the hole can be fickle with the pointed tines, but practice makes perfect.

Proper fitting is key! You don't want the disc to become dysfunctional. If you find yourself in a situation when you can't quite get the prongs out of the hole, you may need some guided assistance to help.

In fact, in my own experience, after a certain amount of licking around the hole, it often is much easier to then fit the prong deeply inside...
Its best to go gently at this point, but you'll often be rewarded to find the hole not only fits, but seems to enjoy being 'on the prong' immensely. The next time you attempt this, the hole will remember your efforts last time and will likely be quite the 'eager beaver' on each new attempt to mount her to the prong!
