Default Worst Trailers?

I've seen some pretty bad trailers, but nothing compare to I Spit on Your Grave's trailer and the all-time worst, The Last House on the Left. 70's trailers are so bad. Even The Texas Chainsaw Massacre's trailer is a bit laughable.

Cast Away and What Lies Beneath. Both were Zemeckis movies, both gave away the entire movie.

And he bragged about it, too...
(But then, keep telling yourself: It's only a movie...)

Going more recent on the list, just this week sat through "Alvin & the Chipmunks" on Blu, and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was not too painfully sitcom-cute, and, in fact, didn't have as many turd-eating scenes in it as advertised.

All from that era sucked. But, it also had some of the best movies (Last House on the Left was f'ing awesome, and TTCM is still one of the best horror movies ever made). Most 60's and 70's era trailers lacked a little something.

Of course, then there's this:

Highlander: Endgame. I hate it that they filmed scenes ONLY for the trailer.....what a rip.

I'd have to go with the teaser for "Dan in Real Life." It was as if they tried to put too much of "Michael Scott" into the trailer to get "The Office" fans to see it.

I thought the film itself was much better than the trailer made it out to be.

I realize this thread is about good movies with bad trailers... but I've got the opposite.

Real Life

No, not 'Dan in Real Life.'

It's a little Albert Brooks movie about reality film-making. I thought the movie was boring, but the trailer was the best, mainly because it had absolutely NOTHING to do with the movie.
