Default Netflix

I was wondering if anyone here rents anything Blu from Netflix. I'm thinking about starting my service up because I don't have enough scratch at this point to do too much purchasing. My question is concerning the pricing with people that rent Blu-Ray movies. I read an announcement not too long back the Netflix was going to start charging their customers more if they went Blu. I was looking for some feedback concerning this. Has their been anything official done yet?

What a long post for such a simple, and short, question

No, nothing official yet.

Incredibly long-winded, I know.

That being said, I can just rent at the same rate as regular DVD customers at this point in time? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, for now. I don't remember them putting any sort of time frame in place for the price increase.

I don't recall any time fame for the increase. Theres also nothing none if it will be a flat fee or more due to frequency.

Theres not enough blu ray on there yet for them to be doing this imo.

It's a great selection too. Netflix ships out new movies to me fairly fast too.

Yeah... Netflix rocks.... for now.

I have the 2 at a time plan and love it. Watch at least 4 Blu's a week. I have Narnia and Predator at home right now.

It is a great way to experience Blu with out shelling out serious cash to build a collection.

I own Spiderman 3 (came with PS3) and I am Legend. (Got it practically Free from Amazon.com)

I've rented quite a few Blu-rays from Netflix. They're in terrific shape and it gives me a chance to see if I want to buy the movie.

Rent Blu from them all the time. Twice the disc was cracked, but i reported it and they sent another disc right away. I usually rent and if I like it then buy.

That's where I'm at. Even at the current price, for the wait that's associated with anything new I'm on the edge of canceling. If they can get the Blu-ray service up to where DVD is (yes, I understand that takes time), I'd be much happier and be more accepting of the price increase. But for now, I'm tired of hearing my wife ask me when the hell we're finally getting 27 Dresses and wondering when I'll ever see AVPR.

LOL I've had Juno in my queue for a freakin month at the #1 spot, and still have not received it.

Sounds like they need to do some work; hopefully a quicker turn-around with new releases will come sooner than later. Right now, I've gone ahead and set up the subscription and set up my queue for a couple of "Available Now" newer movies and some older Blu-Rays that I haven't seen yet (Kingdom of Heaven, Apocalypto).

I've had the service in the past, but that was of course for standard DVD. I'm hoping for the best and - especially with the ability to stream certain movies - I'm pretty sure it'll be worth the monthly fee. Thanks for the input, everyone!

In the meantime, keep the conversation going if you have any "must-see" Blu-Ray recommendations.

Thumbs down netflix blu-ray stunk for me

unfortunately for me i had terrible experiences with blu-ray rentals on netflix. I added "Assassination of Jesse James" on my list about a month before it was released.....and as of last week(when i canceled my account) i was STILL on "LONG WAIT". The funny thing is it would fluctuate between "Short Wait" to "Long wait"(seriously i'm not making that up). I cannot tell you how much this really pissed me off. Out of the ONLY 4 blu-rays i got, all but one were sent to me from another state, which took even longer for me to get.

My advice
Save your the 10-15 bucks a month wasting your time on that place and buy a blu ray every couple of months. I had to settle for renting movies i really wanted to see in hi def on sd, or getting movies i didn't feel like watching because i REALLY wanted to see whatever blu ray was on the top of my list.

that's my two cents, ladies and gentlemen.

NETFLIX = SUCKS, and i refuse to pay more money for movies i never get(that's if this price hike does happen)

Yeah, Juno instantly shipped to me as well.

[EDIT]It is now slated for Monday to ship but not garenteed. So far its been since its release date on May 6th. The previous entry stated that it was going to ship today but that it clearly not going to be the case unfortunately.

Though shipment depends on location availibility so it will differ from person to person.

Thanks for your input. I plan on using the free-trial to its extent. If things don't ship timely and correctly then I'll cancel.

I live within 40 mins of three distribution centers. My Netflix service has been great for the last three years. Blu ray included. I get new releases weekly.

LOL I'm partially to blame for this . . . I've had it for about a month and a half.

Movie shows as available now in my queue. Only movie that has a wait is for the GF - Finding Nemo (DVD).
