20G vs 60G PS3

I just purchased a 60G PS3 solely for the purpose of playing Blu-ray DVDs.

Is there any advantage to a 60G player vs a 20G player when not using the unit for anything but a BD player? Or would I have been just as well off with the 20G?

The 60GB version is good generally as you can download free trailers, demos without worrying about space and it has wifi, which is useful if you have a home network. The 20GB is fine also, but for accessing the Internet, you need to wire it in, or buy a wireless network bridge which can cost about $50-60, so it really is not that different.

For some reason, I seem to recall that the 60Gb has HDMI, and the 20 doesn't... correct me if I am wrong. I don't have a 20, so I can't check

no both have hdmi... also the 20gb doesn't have memory card slots.

and the 20GB doesn't have wifi.

For strictly a BD player a 20GB will be fine. You can always swap the harddrive for a bigger one.

No, from a player stand point there is NO difference. You should take it back and get the 20 gig.

Yes I didn't state that because it was answered a few posts before me but if you want to get technical the 60 GB also comes with a chrome front bezel.

I would chose 60gb over 20gb because of built-in wifi.

I have only seen 60gb playstation 3 in stock at stores in my area. There is no 20gb around, most are likely sold out.

The 60GB is the way to go. The best reason is the resale value/demand will likely be much better than a 20GB model.

The extra room on disc is great for holding MP3 files you can play through your home theatre system.

Wifi:
You can easily download free HD previews of movies, (it's a matter of one or two clicks).
Getting firmware updates is easy.
Extremely easy set-up.
If you don't have a wireless set-up it will cost about 50 dollars to get a router. I found the riouter setup quite easy, just turn the devices on in the proper order.

The memory card for my computer will plug in to the PS3 and I can show pics on my HDTV.

The 20 is the same as the 60 minus wi-fi and all the media card readers.
I went out and got me a USB Flash drive to transfer all my photos and music files from my PC. Works great! I've loaded a ton of songs onto my PS3 and it's a real complement to my photos I have stored on it.

I have a 20GB PS3 and immediately upgraded it to a 100GB hard drive. I can use my external USB drive to do anything a card reader does, and I have the PS3 wired directly into my router.
