Default Does anybody use this to watch Blu ray movies?

Does anybody use the Sony Wega 36" to watch their Blu ray movies? I'm just wondering, because it seems that everyone one this site has a flat planel TV. I just don't have the money right now to get a flat panel... so do you think it's a good tv to watch Blu Ray movies on?

Did you edit your sig?

Anyway, don't know the specs for that Sony, but I had a JVC D-Series 36" TV that looked awesome with SD-DVDs. I bought the PS3 in December and hooked it up. Ack! What a waste of what Blu-Ray is capable of. Dumped that for my LCD a couple of weeks later.

save up for a flat panel, or else i think you are just wasting money in the long run.

there will be quite a lot of 24 month interest free financing available comes memorial day!

buy a decent 40" LCD HD TV 1080P from Vizio. You can get it at just about $1000-1200 I believe. For some, even cheaper.

Westinghouse is a pretty good brand and good product for a 37"-42" fo $1000 or less.

If you finance that interest free for 24 months, you're paying only like $45/month.

I have a 37" 720P lcd, and it looks GREAT..... so if you can save up $750 or so.... you can get a very nice picture.... I agree that saving $1400 or so for these 46" sonys is tempting.... but 37" to 40+" is a big price jump.

good luck!

Get a 42" Toshiba Regza 1080p LCD for $1099, it's a fantastic set for the price

And that Wega is HD, isn't it? I've got a LG HD CRT (1080i) and think it looks better than my 1080i DLP, (I still use the DLP since it's twice the size ). The contrast is amazing, the black is so deep.

Dang man, I have that tv! Serious as a heart attack. It does PIP in analog and needs a Box for HD, right? Best 200 lb TV I ever bought.

Sure, I feed my BDP-S300 into the HD component jacks and get a great pic in 1080i. I don't have surround sound yet but the tv speakers get the job done nicely.

I have a 34" Panasonic CRT 1080i HDTV and I love it!

But I have to admit that my new Panasonic plasma (TH50PZ80) is... well... much bigger! I can see much more details and I can now see that HD cable doesn't look so good
