Question trails? while watching blu-ray

Hello all, I came across this site via Google.com.
Forgive me, I am new to all the below mentioned technology, and am sorry if this is like beating a dead horse. I have done a bit of research and am not turning up answers, I may be asking the wrong thing, or wording it wrong. So here it goes...

I recently purchased a Playstation 3 and a Samsung 32" 720p/1080i LCD TV. I am using an HDMI cable to link the two. I have played 1080p native PS3 games and they look GREAT. I have also played native 720p games that looked equally impressive.

What I am really concerned about is, I played a blu-ray movie in the PS3 for the 1st time the other night. Not too impressed, people and objects moving across the screen left a "trail" behind them. This was very distracting and gave me a headache trying to watch the movie. My fiancé said she only noticed a few times, but it seemed like that was all I could focus on.

Is this the TV having a hard time keeping up with the picture? The PS3 not "downscaling" the video to 720p or 1080i? I have no clue what to do.

ANY help is appreciated, and THANK YOU in advance.

-David
