Default No DD 5.1 watching blu-ray movies

I have my ps3 outputting optical
I have a Denon 2803 reciever
Under BD settings I have bitstream selected
Under sound setting I have 5.1, 5.1 DTS & ACC selected
Watching DVD's I get DD 5.1 but when watching blu-ray my reciever kicks into prologic
Games I get 5.1 is RFOM, RR7 & Untold Legends, NBA 07 also kicks into prologic
Anyone know if this is a PS3 or reciever problem

It's possible that most BD's with 5.1 PCM default to the 5.1 PCM track. This would give you 2 channel PCM out of optical (and therefore kicking your reciever into Pro Logic), and you would have to choose Dolby Digital from the disc's menu to get 5.1 Dolby Digital.

I had the same problem, not using HDMI, but found a fix, for my blunder.

From the PS3 main menu, in the BD/DVD settings, you need to change the audio output from LinearPCM to Bitstream on both audio output formats, HDMI & Optical.

I guess you activated 5.1 optical output in the PS3 menu? Default ist 2.0 Output....
