Default Minor issue with Samsung LN46A650, kind of annoying

Those of you that own this tv know about the issue with the tv randomly shutting down, but it is easily fixed with a firmware update. This has NOT happened to me at all.
I have another minor issue that is somewhat annoying. Aparrently, all the tv's settings such as picture, sound, etc. are saved, even if you turn off the tv. This is normal. What's happening to mine is, if you turn OFF the tv and leave it OFF, whether it be 5 minutes or 5 hours, and turn it back on, the SRS Surround Sound effect will be in OFF mode. I have to turn it back to ON each time I turn on the tv. I called Samsung and they said that the HDMI version of the cable box is probably an older version or the settings from the cable box need to be changed. Anyone experiencing this?

Another example of what a stellar year samsung is having!!! Can you exchange the T.V. or is it past the time policy?

I bought is through Amazon.com and I beleive they have a 30 day exchange policy. Personally, I thought their customer service was excellent. I got the tv in 6 days, from the date I placed the order. That's pretty fast. It arrived on Monday, so technically I can still exchange it. I just don't know if I will exhange it over such a minor issue. I mean, the picture quality is the best I've seen. Standard DVD's look amazing! The rep from Samsung might have a point, because I researched the cable box online, which is the Explorer 8300HD from Scientific Atlanta and it does specify that the HDMI version is 1.0. The Samsung's HDMI input is version 1.3.

Ok, just figuered out the problem. It's gonna be the same firmware update that fixes the problem with the tv randomly shutting down. BTW, my wife told me the tv did shut down last night, but didn't tell me until this afternoon. So, it definitely needs the update. If anyone is interested, you can go to the Samsung support website for this download. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/do...sp_nm=LN46A650
