Default Onkyo 805 No Audio from Right or Left Front

Just got my Onkyo 805 yesterday. She's a beaut! I only have my center, front left, and front right speakers with me, so I tried testing them out. The center speaker sounds AWESOME, but I can't get any sound from the front or left channel speakers.

I checked and re-checked the wiring. I even replaced a cord, but it's no use. I only get audio from my center channel speaker. Just for kicks, I wired each front speaker to the center channel port on the Onkyo and they both work as the center speaker. I wired the center channel speaker into the front L and front R ports, just to see it it would work, and it didn't.

So, this means my Onkyo 805 isn't outputting sound to my front right and left speakers. Any ideas/suggestions? I can't run Audyssey because the first thing it tries is the front left speaker. It says there is no front left speaker. D'oh!!

This is a refurb model from eCost. I'm going to try calling Onkyo right now and see if they can help. Thanks in advance for any advice. I would love to hear some.

check to see if speakers "A/B" are "on" Just a thought, but I don't know, I'm assuming Audyssey would automatically enable them to test them..... sounds like a bad amp otherwise.

How to I check for speakers A/B? Audyssey tells me there is no front left speaker and stops from there.

An Onkyo rep advised me to take it to my local service center for repair. Luckily, I live 6 miles from one.

It's acting as if it thinks something is plugged into the L&R pre-outs. That would "turn off" the speaker connections for those channels while leaving the center channel input unaffected.

That doesn't help solve your problem unless there is some setting on the 805 that might induce such a thing.

Hmmm.

Make sure it isn't in bi-amp mode. That would cause the problem you are having.

Setup --> speaker settings --> speaker type should be "Normal".

Thanks. It was in normal mode, not bi-amp. The receiver is in the shop. I'll hear back from them after a few days.
