Default What firmware version does the BD30 come with?

I just bought a Panasonic BD30 the other day and haven't updated it with any firmware yet. What will be on it right now and how can I tell? Watched two movies on it yesterday, Casino Royale and I Am Legend and both worked flawlessly. Thanks.

Hello, when I bought mine a while back, it came with firmware version 1.2. To find out what you have, go to setup (through Functions button on remote) then click Display. Then press the Status button on remote and you'll see your firmware version in the lower right of the box. Mine is up to date and is version 1.6. To get the newest firmware update go to

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-e...-DVD+Recorders

then just click download next to DMP-BD30 Blu-ray Disc Player Firmware Update. Also, by clicking on the download instructions you'll also see what each firmware updated and enhanced/fixed. Hope that helps.

The improvement description for 1.8 says only "Playability and Stability "....what do you think that exactly means anyway?

Besides obvious overall improvement, any particular category or a smorgasboard perhaps?

Some titles with HD audio drop outs appeared to be fixed.
AVS has the details
