Default HDMI splitters: Good or Bad?
One thing I mentioned a couple times was that I can't really utilize my PS3's backwards compatibility the way it's currently connected. Direct to the TV, everything's fine, but since I feed it through the receiver to get my surround sound, anything 480i/p (ie PS1/2 games, DVDs) gets a lag, even when upconversion is active.

I thought about getting around this with a splitter, but I was curious if splitters weaken the signal and compromise picture or sound quality.
