Anybody going to catch The Strangers tonight? - Blu-ray Forum

Im not sure if i wanna see this movie or not but got potential and need a lil horror fix real quick due to the lacking at this time bds that are not out on horror yet and may go catch this. Is anybody else going and what are you thoughts on it?

I gonna go see it, maybe not tonight but I'll see it sometime. I enjoyed Vacancy, which seems very similar to this movie

Saw it at midnight, was pretty creepy. Like pop up scary.

Yeah, it's a nice break from the gore fest horror movies that have been coming out lately.

This movie does seem to be very similar to Funny Games.

I like to hear that. The whole gore thing is just not my deal. I like suspense and movies that make my imagination start running away with me. Maybe I'm just getting too old for this stuff...

hi, i actually saw this movie a few months back (leaked promo copy) and it was pretty good, not as good as the orphanage, but still worth thr price of admission

As long as gore is not used as the only scare or shock factor, I don't mind it used here and there.

I do agree that a good suspense/creepy film using more subtle technics were your imagination gets a workout is far more effective in creating a good scare film.

This is one I will buy on Blu-ray.

Don't get me wrong; a little dab'll do ya.

However, a whole lot of excessive gore does not a movie, or horror movie, make. I get fed up with the whole "if it isn't gory for the sake of being gory it's not a good horror movie" generation. The same generation that told me that Carpenter's "Halloween" sucked ass.

Agreed. The problem with relying on gore only to create fear is that the viewer becomes desensitized quickly and the shock wears off 30 minutes into the movie. The mind can scare its self much better!

The first half isn't bad, but eventually I found myself looking at my watch. I would suggest savig your money.
