Keyboard with New XMB update - Blu-ray Forum

What's up Guys & Gals,

Just a little food for thought...

With the XMB that is rumored to be coming to us with the next new firmware update, won't we all need a keyboard?

Here are our choices:

1. We can buy a keyboard so we can type our messages fast so not to get killed during a game of CoD4.

2. We can type a message with the SIXAXIS/Controller and get killed 10X while doing it.

Ouch! Looks like I'll be buying a keyboard.

My only question is; Will PS3 allow us to have a Keyboard active during game play?

I actually already have a KB in place that I swap back and forth between my PS3 and XBOX 360.

I bought a $15 USB keyboard about a year ago for the PS3, so I'm set.

time to invest in a blu-tooth keyboard..as I'm already constantly using all four USB ports on my PS3.

Title of this thread is a little misleading.

Personally I don't think I'll ever use the new XMB, so the my PS3 will not require a keyboard.

I bought one eary on - too annoying typing out a message. It's great for internet and messaging. Couldn't imagine not having it in certain occasions.

I have an RF keyboard:

Wireless Rf USB Keyboard with optical Trackball 2.4GHZ Blk

works excellent, and no need for a flat surface for the mouse since it has a trackball. I can lay in bed and surf the net easy.

what does the new XMB have to do with a keyboard? it's just a navigation system ???
btw I have a wireless keyboard fropm Microsteal, it has only a 4 feet range and my couch is 5.5 feet away ...

I've already got a USB keyboard for a laptop, so I think I'm good to go. Even though I second the idea of a bluetooth one for when I'm kicked back at the back of the room. I think it might be a bit too far for the USB dongle.

Voice messaging??? Not sure if the XMB has that. It's more like Instant Messenger
