BD has a pretty good lead. How's the tone of Audioholics been in the past? Were they pro-HD or pro-BD?

Voted Blu of course. I am a U of K fan, so I bleed blue already. The blu-ray vote was over 100 while HD was 25 and THD had 3.

I think that this forum is more representative of the so called J6P demographic, people are talking about HD DVD just being an upgrade of DVD and Blu-ray is completely new tech, and all that jazz. If Blu-ray has taken the lead so resoundingly it shows what the public will be thinking when both teams have player prices at less than $300/£200/€200.

I'm a complete noob to this stuff, so what is "Total HD" & "Vaporwave"?

They can't be as good as either Blu-Ray or HD-DVD since they have 3 votes each.

BTW- I voted Blu-Ray cos i've been taught it's a hell of alot better than HD-DVD in reality & as a guitarist i want it to look as sick as possible & i was told Blu-Ray's audio is superior to the HD-DVD.

Obviously there's the SA-CD for straight audio.

Other than the 30 simpletons who voted for HDDVD, it looks like it's a unanimous decision in BD's favor.

That's right. BD's audio capacity is superior to the HD-DVD and DVD-Audio, since Blu-ray supports up to 5.1 channels of PCM 192 kHz and 24 bit.

Super Audio CD will remain as a pure audio format with an exclusive audio encoding (Direct Stream Digital).

Cheers!

Blu-ray gets my vote.

With Blu-ray beating the crap out of HD-DVD for 2007 movie titles isn't something that I can't ignore.

Blu-ray will the TRUE successor to DVD before we reach the Holographic optical disc era (post-2020)

I take it you voted for SA-CD in your pol in your signature?

As a musician (i use the term loosely!), the best sound on any film or concert possible- the better.

Most people want that anyways, but i wouldn't mind if domestic HD stayed at 1920x1080 display but the audio improved to something like 11.1 by 2009.

That'd kick ass.

I think it's 7.1 True HD atm & i know the Ultra-HD is 22.2 sound! Although needless to say, i don't have a cinema sceen in my house!

Its not suprising that a site with audio in its name.....highly prefers the format with the far better audio on the vast majority of its releases.

Indeed.

Incidentally, that's an amazing lead for BD in that poll.

I'm so used to seeing heavily biased HD-DVD sites and forums that I get genuinely shocked when I see actual common sense like what we're seeing in those poll numbers there.
