Default Royal Digital Media develops new optical media format that exceeds BD capacity

Okay so there have been other companies that tried to compete with Blu Ray before.

DVD: Though Cheaper, old news. Not an issue
HD DVD: Had its 15 minutes of fame, but that show has been canceled.
S.U.C: Well sure if you want to wait 3 hours to watch a movie... I don't think so. Even then, it doesn't match BR quality.

But now I here about Royal Digital Media and their 100 GB disc with much better encryption...

Will this be the one that gives Blu Ray a run for its money. My guess... Probably not. The studios have already gone through the whole "transition to Blu Ray" process. Blu Ray is good enough for what they need. Not sure why they would go through the expense of producing movies on a new format. Unless the encryption issue is enough to tempt them. I guess we'll see???

I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

Here is a link to the info:

I would love to know if any insiders have heard anythign about this new format, and if so, does it really do what it claims???
