What resolution does PS3 play DVD's? - Blu-ray Forum

Does it have any type of 720p upscaling or anything for playing regular DVD's? Just wondering if I should scrap my upscaling DVD player and just start playing everything on my PS3.

480p only. For now at least until they add upscaling with a firmware update. No word on when that will be out.

This was dissapointing, I've been holding off on getting a separate upconverting dvd player. Hopefully Sony will release a patch for dvd playback like they did for the ps2 games.
