Default Blu Ray problems???

Hey all first post and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a 40" Sony XBR2 and and a sony blu ray player and an onkyo TX SR674 receiver which is connected with monster HDMI cables. The problem I'm having is when I start a disc during certain scenes of any movie I play the screen will flicker black for a brief second and come back again I know its not the discs because all the movies I have do it and I know its not the player because when I connect it straight to the TV it works fine so I'm thinking it has something to do with the receiver any help with my problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help.

Sounds like an HDMI issue with your receiver. I believe some of the Onkyos have issues with 1080p. Try sending it 1080i and see if that solves (and identifies) your problem.

I had the same problem with a movie I played on my PS3. It happened about 3 times during the movie, but went away. Haven't had it happen again since. Maybe the player needs a firmware upgrade?

Not entirely sure, but it should go away (eventually).
