blu ray playback problems again - Blu-ray Forum

I'm another newbie here,so bear with me please.I'm having problems plying bluray disks.I keep getting an error message after the disc plays for a short time.(failed to detect graphics)and the system freezes then..have to eject the disc
I had this problem intitially,but it went away after I changed which DVI output I was hooked up to.I got Beowulf disc and it started all over again..now none of the disc will work again(only for a minute or less).Any ideas?I have power dvd 7.3

my daughter got it for me from the UK..it's suppose to be region free..my other bluray discs won't work right now

that's the edion of it..guess it's power dvd 7..yes..great daughter

i googled power dvd 7.3 and the first link says it sucks and most blu rays dont even work on it. if thats what you have i guess it sucks

have u heard of any-dvd software? this allow you to play region locked.

guess that could be my problem.which way should I go? upgrade to dvd ultra..or buy the plugin for nero 8?..or any other ideas?

Iwas just checking the nero website and it said I needed some upgrades with my cpu and graphic card.I have a amd athelon 9500 quad core processor and a ati hd 2400 xt card..that worked before

I always liked PowerDVD but I haven't really used it much on PCs in recent years.

Beowulf isn't region locked though so I don't think that's your issue.

I bought the plug in for nero 8 and now it works for a few minutes and then I lose the picture

Your problem is the second analog monitor connection. You need to completely disable it before starting your playback software
