Default What is the most important factor for u when buying a Blu-ray?

So, what is the most important factor that makes you spend part of your month salary on BD's

For me it's the story; if it's compelling I'd buy it.

For me, I would say the movie itself is the most important because it has to be something I'll watch repeatedly. In a close second is Audio quality, and then picture. There are movies that excel in PQ/AQ that have made me want to buy them, but I ultimately didn't because I realized that I probably wouldn't watch them often enough to warrant a buy. Thanks

The movie itself.

If I don't like the movie, I'm not buying just because it has great PQ/AQ.

I chose "the movie itself". It could be a total crapfest with the best graphics and pq/aq and I still wont buy it.

I chose the movie itself option, but if the movie is weak but has a good soundtrack I'll still buy it. I used to not really care about audio and focused more on pq but having surround changed my view entirely. Good audio enhances the movie so much more than good picture imho.

Got to be the movie itself. Case in point; Daniel Day-Lewis is one of my favorite actors and "The Last of the Mohicans" is one of my favorite movies. When/if it comes out on Blu-ray I will buy it first chance. On the other hand "There Will Be Blood" was overly long and windy in my opinion. I haven't bought it yet and probably won't unless I find it in a bargin bin sale somewhere.

Picture is the factor for me. This is why I buy any HD to see the lovely resolution. If I wanted it just for the movie itself and the Blu ray has a 1 or 2 star transfer I would just buy the DVD second hand.

Of course the movie itself would be first.
Then i look at PQ on the Bluray if it's close to the DVD
version and the DVD is cheaper then i get the DVD.
But if the Bluray version has an awesome picture
i'll pay a little extra for it.

Replay value and PQ. I'm not buying a BD that I will only watch once, even if I can get it on sale. If I haven't seen the movie in theaters, I usually rent it first to make sure I will want to rewatch it. I only have 3 blind buys in my collection, and I am quite happy with them (Blade Runner, Chronicles of Narnia, and Enchanted).

wow I honestly thought picture quality would have a big lead here. surprised most people feel the way I do! not that it's a unique opinion, I just didn't thnk it would be the most popular around here.

I will ONLY buy a movie if I know I like the story or will like the story - so I love reading reviews on this site and word of mouth from sensical users who defend their statements (not incompetent fools who shout on the forums, saying, "so and so SUCKZ"). Movie is first. PQ/AQ second. Price third. That's it, really.

When I love a movie, though, price is no aspect at all. PQ/AQ becomes a bonus,

Replay value is important, too.

If I don't like the movie, there's no point no matter how good it looks.

Yea, he got it. Sky Captain here is the only...hmm, how should I put this?

The movie or game has to be good. I don't care if it is the best looking or sounding disk on the market if the movie or game stinks I will not buy it.

The only way I'll buy any game/movie on BD is it has to possess a good plot/gameplay, picture/audio quality, and price.
