Default Receiver for PS3 with four HDMI inputs

I have four HDMI capable sources, and would prefer to upgrade my receiver to one that supports four switchable repeating HDMI inputs. I have a PS3 player, and so care if the codecs are processed in the receiver or not.

The Onkyo TX-SR606 is on my list. What else should I add?

The PS3 can decode all the codecs and send it out via PCM, so wouldn't you mean that you "don't care" if the codecs are processed or not?

Either way, with that many HDMI inputs, you're going to run into a receiver that'll do it. Gotta ask- what sources are you using that make up the 4?

You will be fine with 2 onbaord HDMI receiver and buy multi switch to add more HDMI inputs are needed.

First, yes, I mean't I don't care if the receiver processes all the audio codecs.

Second, I actually have five current HDMI inputs by use of an HDMI switcher. They are:

Verizon FiOS HD DVR
HD DVD
PS3
HD camcorder
DVR

And a Mac Quad running to a PC input.

I plan to move the DVR to a Component input, and switch the other four.

I am well aware of the HDMI switchers. In fact, I like the one I have by Oppo that I've been using up until now. I would prefer to replace an HDMI switcher with a receiver that handles more HDMI inputs. It's really pretty ridiculous in today's error to only offer two. My TV offers four. Why can't the receiver?

Seriously, is someone paying you to talk about the 1018 all the time. It's not even out yet man. Quit telling people to buy something that isn't available to buy.

And btw, it only supports three HDMI inputs. So it's more curious that you (TENSE) would tout it given my stated requirements.

www.ultimateavmag.com has a review up of the 606. It's very positive.

I need it too.

1) Bell ExpressVu Receiver
2) Oppo 980H for SACD/DVD-Audio
3) PlayStation 3
4) DVD Recorder

If I add a dedicated Blu-ray player I'll replace the DVD Recorded with component.

Smile Sony STR-DG820

I have everything Sony, I always have because they tend to be reliable and you get a lot of bank for the buck.

I recently picked this one up, I started with the STR-DG720, but decided to spend the extra 100.00 on the STR-DG820 since it has the DTSHD and DolbyHD so I wouldnt look at upgrading soon.

PS3 is Sony, TV is Sony, just makes everything easy and simple.

YES YES...I know the Onyko is cleaper for the same thing, but I have always had a lot of good luck with everything Sony.

Yeah but I already have several pairs of good component cables and the DVD-Recorded is only hooked up so I can see what I'm recording when I hook up the MiniDV through iEEE.

I don't use it for watching DVD's at all, the Oppo will take care of that.

I do buy pretty much all my cables and adapters and speaker wire from Monoprice though - none better for $ value.
