Default Onkyo 805 4 ohm performance?

Well my next big upgrade day is Thursday and just wanted to double check a couple things before I ordered anything.

Is the Onkyo 805 capable of handling 4 ohm speakers?

This is the link to one of the setups I was eye balling:

http://axiomaudio.com/epic80_350.html

Been kind of worried about not being able to run them as the mains are 4 ohm and the rest 6 ohm.

So I've also been looking at an all 8ohm Paradigm setup:

Monitor 11's, CC-390 center and ADP-390 surrounds.

Think it will run them or would I be better off with my second choice?

These might be a better second choice..

I think you would rather go with their 6T tower instead of the 5T...

Check them out..

As to your Onkyo.. it states on their site that it will handle 4-16ohms or 6-16ohms of impedance.

Nice looking speakers but not an option for me as I'd also have to pay shipping and GST tax on them < I live in Canada>

Thing that worries me about the Onkyo is that it doesn't give you any 4 ohm ratings IE. Power (8ohms 1kHz 0.7%)

It just says "Certified 4ohms performance "

Is that constant or does that mean it can handle 4 if it dips down to that level for a short period of time?

Sorry for all my noobish questions..

After some digging around in the Axiom forums it looks like Onkyo cannot run the M80's.

Seems like the most common problem is the receiver will just overheat and shut off.

aside from the issue you stated, which i think would be solved by bi-amping if you are only running 5.1.... the onkyo will run at 4 ohms constant, when doing setup you either choose 4 or 6 ohms... 4 will handle 4-6, 6 will handle 6-16

i found that to be weird also not having 4ohm ratings... my sony has the ratings when operating under 4ohms.. sorry to hear that other owners are having problems with the axioms and the 805. i guess you might have to go with option 2.
