Default It's only $30,000

KRELL has come out with a new version -- the Evolution 707 -- of its surround/preamp processor that adds four HDMI 1.3 inputs, double the color depth, added bandwidth and other tweaks aimed at fine-tuning the luxury home-theater system, the company said. Priced at $30,000, the Evolution 707 has "the latest in connectivity technology," said Dan D'Agostino, Krell's CEO and chief designer. ElectronicHouse.com (6/10)

Krell makes GREAT stuff..... I've listened to a few, and would love to own their gear..... but it's not on my radar right now.

I'd rather buy the Sen Orpheous HE90..Stax Omegas, R10/Q10/AKG 1000/L3000 then that.. pluss a 5-10 thousand dac.. For 30,000 you can do so much better to get better SQ..

Krell products typically are built like tanks and they should be for what they charge. I've heard that their gear is a little bright and edgy compared to some other high end audiophile brands.

Built like a tank they are. I can't think of many amp manufacturers that quote power ratings into 1 Ohm, and those power ratings double with every halving of impedance from 8 to 1 Ohms.

Yeah most companies like Krell typically double into 4 ohms, but don't list specs for impedances lower than 4 ohms.

Current= one of the best attributes an amp can have. 99% of the time an amp with excellent current is an excellent sounding/performing amp.

No way. I'll spend 14K on the new Denon Amp and pre-amp I mean how much do we really need here. We are not powering Madison Square Garden for home theater.

Denon AVR4308ci
Pioneer Elite BDP-95FD
Richard Grays 600s power conditioner
Monster 5100 Mk2
Def Tech BP7002's, CLR 2500, UIW BPZ/A (2), UIW 84/A (2) 7.1
Samsung 5084 1080p
Denon DVD3930ci

This is a pre-amp, it doesnt power anything. You need to get seperate amps for that.

I find the Krell stuff to be way too bright and not very reliable. I would much rather have the new Mark Levinson Number 502. Looks better, more reliable, better sound quality.

To all those posting that you would rather have denon crap. There are a lot of things out there that sound way better than denon. If you have a great set of speakers and an amp you can get much better sound than from a receiver. I suggest that you check out Anthem, Outlaw and a few other Pre-Pro manufacturers before you say that separates aren't necessary.

With 30,000 dollars you could go to the theater over 3,000 times and see all the movies with a great picture and great sound. Plus, with all of the "great" movies that Hollywood is pumping out these days, I am guessing that it would take a very long time to see 3,000 movies worth watching in the first place. It's a no thanks for me.
