uhhh, every one that's out just about. I'm on a mission to replace every DVD with a blu ray counterpart as they come out. DVD's are crap to me anymore unless they aren't out on HD DVD or Blu.

They call it "Double-Dipping", as you pay twice for the same movie.

I think I've done it once or twice but I plan to eventually replace my entire DVD collection.

I have but only on titles that have lots of visuals, or I got a great deal on them.

My policy going into this was that I would not double-dip, except maybe for some of my special favorites.

I am finding though that now that I am spoiled by HD it is a letdown to watch a DVD, especially for a detail-rich movie like the Star Wars ones.

I have double-dipped 8-10 movies at this point, and probably will be doing more as they come out.

Usually the upgrade from SD to Blu is well worth it. I try to sell the DVDs on eBay then, so i get a few bucks back.

I'm trying to make all the movies I have SD into HD, that is out. I need like 77 more but I trying to find them cheap as used either in stores that sell them used or I buy them off of half.com.

The majority of the Blu-Ray titles I have have been converts. That's why I was pissed that the PQ on the GANGS OF NEW YORK Blu-Ray was awful because it was a title I had already that I wanted to upgrade. Plus the fact that it and SHINE A LIGHT at the end of the month would have made it 5 Scorsese films on Blu-Ray I have.

Yeah, the only time I'll be getting DVD's from now on is for something that I know will either never really come to Blu or will just take a while, like some Criterion titles, the latest FUTURAMA movie and SPACED: THE COMPLETE SERIES.

most of the bluray titles I own I have on DVD. I am very glad that I read the Gangs of New York thread before I bought it. I don't mind so much buying a title I already own and love on DVD, but if its not going to be any kind of upgrade, then why bother.

There are only a handful of movies that I own that I will "double dip" for (LOTR extended cuts, Star Wars, Bourne, Batman Begins, Braveheart, maybe a couple others). That being said, every new purchase from here on out will primarily be blu-ray (on sale of course). I love movies, but I do have other interests that spend money on too, and spending $$ on the same movie just isn't worth it to me.

Hmmm? I sell mine or just keep them, if they are "special" like a collectors editon.Having said that, i don't consider my movie collection an "investment" or something like that, but simply a way to spend my disposable income for something that i think is worth it. And for me, the upgrade to a blu is worth the expense most of the time, because i get a better experience from the film than from the DVD. Most DVDs i have show some flaws in one way or the other, most Blu's i have don't.

I would say about half of my 90+ Blus are "upgrades" from my DVD.

For the most part I sold or traded in for credit to buy more Blus . The DVDs I kept were T2 and ID4 both are the extended editions that are not on Blu, gave Men in Black to my 12 year-old son.

I have a stack of 'em to give away to friends, or maybe sell to the used bookstore.

I traded on for a blu-ray that someone had gotten by mistake.

I would say about 15-20 of them.

The handful of 10 dollar rebates from diney/bv help a bit.
