Resistance: blackout - Blu-ray Forum

When starting up resistance fall of man on my system, when the game is loading and moving from one load screen to another at a certain point the screen blacks out EVERY TIME ! This can't be normal. The game maintains audio, but no picture, so I have to startover and quickly hit the start button on the sixaxsis before it reaches this point. Has anyone else had any problems w/ this perticulaur title?

Neither have I - and I also have put in too many hours on the thing...

my ps3 does strange things when transitioning from one video source/type to another.

It has happened on cut scenes as well. No probs with ps3 games though, only ps2 games, whcih is what I mostly play anyway.

Its definately strange, but I figured it was normal....

I've played it all the way through without issues. This sounds like a synch issue between the unit and your display. If you're running the video signal through a receiver before it hits the display, that could be the problem. Just for fun, try connecting direct to the display and see what happens.

Sounds like an HDMI handshaking issue. If that's what your using for video.

I'm currently connecting with the componet cables that come with the system directly into the video/audio in jacks on the tv. I need to determine if it's the tv, (which is a SDTV by the way) or my ps3 it self. On a nother interesting note when I put in the Underword:evoloution bluray it played just fine , but when I put in The covenent I got the sony pictures intro, but the the screen goes black immedeatelyafter that just like it does on resistance ,but NBA 07 plays perfectly. Please help if you can.

reset system to default, and give us a shout back after that. I had sound issues and that cleared it up.

are you using component or composite?
component being the green, red, blue.... and composite being the red, white, yellow??? sounds like composite to me. Make sure that setup is being identified in the display options.

I'm sorry, but I have to ask. Why are you buying Blu-ray movies to watch on a standard def tv?

As we all know getting a ps3 on or around launch period was next to impossible, so when the opportunity presented it self, I bought one . I started buying blurays a few months back to get a jump start on building my library, so that when I finnally brought home my HDTV I'd have a nice selection of movies and games to start with.As I mentioned earleir though, the ps3 came befofe the HDTV.
