![]() ![]() I have the player connected directly to a 5.1 adaptor going into a 5.1 power amp, so I'm using the internal decoder from the BD-94. Now, I have noticed a difference in clarity when I make changes in the audio set-up, but I'm not really sure just what the internal decoder in the player might be doing, since there is no way of getting any info on the matter from the player. All of this came about, because a friend of mine who also has a BD-94, connected through an old (5.1) Pioneer multi-channel receiver, has found some films do not sound as good in the TrueDobly mode as opposed to the standard Dobly Digital. Is there a big difference by using a multi-channel receiver? Or, does the receiver do something to the signal anyway? All I know is that in my setup, it appears that the TrueDobly is superior to compressed 5.1 Dobly. But then, after all this fuss and research, I'm still not sure where I stand with the BD-94, since I've received all sorts of different opinions. Can someone out there give me a solid difinite answer on this Blu-Ray player? ![]() |
